Leadership Economic Mentorship Hubs (LEMHs)
The Leadership Economic Mentorship Hubs (LEMHs) programme (Ongoing); is a gender transformative one-year holistic leadership programme that raises Adolescent Girls and Young Women (AGYW) as informed and empowered leaders in their families, communities, nation and the global village and are ready to claim those rights.
The design of the LEMHs leadership model has 3 stages within one year including: The ‘Youths Empowered for Leadership – YEG’ a 10-12 day bootcamp training for transformative feminist-oriented training focusing on personal and broader leadership as well as human rights and its intersecting thematic areas; the ‘Youth Engaging Local Leaders – YELL’, where the trained LEMHsters create movements of 10 to 20 fellow youths and local leaders in communities to address issues in their thematic area of choice; and, ‘Youth Engaging in Hubs – YEIH’ where LEMHsters enjoy deeper engagement with national issues through media (mainline and digital), networking and mentorship, and advocacy on local, regional and international levels.
6000 girls and young women have been directly impacted by the LEMHs program and through widespread engagement, the program has indirectly impacted millions of people.
