I am Tatenda Tahla and l am aged 27. After the training l received from Tag a Life International under the LEMHs programme, l now see myself as a voice to the voiceless, a leader and game changer.
The leadership programme has helped me to have a vision and l was able to develop a personal work plan. My passion is in governance and democracy.
The immediate change l saw after the training was the confidence to join TaLI team as a volunteer. Before the training, l was not confident to address even a small group of people. However, the YEG training empowered me to be confident and assertive and by volunteering at TaLI l would participate and lead different audiences. A few months later, l was promoted to be Assistant Projects Officer and now Projects Coordinator for TaLI. I managed to conquer my fears as l am now responsible for all running projects at TaLI Head Office. Of interest, at one point l presented in parliament on behalf of the organization during the education Bill hearings. I am also had the opportunity to engage with other civil societies.
In 10 years time l see myself sitting in a decision making position, making decisions on behalf of my fellow young women.
