My name is Tanatsiwa Ntandoyami Chikove, I’m 20 years old. I’m studying towards a Bachelor of Science Honours degree in Social Work. From the training that was provided by Tag a Life international I managed to benefit leadership and group skills.

I got a chance to know that to be a leader there are certain qualities and characteristics that are required such as patience, discipline dedication, determination just to mention a few. Leadership requires one to be able to do self introspection and I’m glad I got a chance to do so. I learnt that in order to be a good leader you should have a personal leadership plan and this has benefited me so far because I now have a plan.

To a greater extent it’s a benefit because I now have my plans in place and it will be easy to achieve planned goals within a period of ten years. During the LEMHs training I learnt that women should be involved in leadership and in governance because most of the things that affect women, men do not understand and also that women should not be left out and this made me realize that I’m in the right track. Since I’m currently the ZINASU gender secretary for Midlands State University Harare Chapter I plan to advance my leadership position to becoming the campus president.

I’m going to run for office this coming election. I benefited a lot of things that I did not know for example things like financial literacy and climate change and a lot of things that are going to change my life in my political struggle as a young woman in politics. The LEMHs training taught me to always make a plan and to never give up on dreams. Now that I’m a LEMHster and I’ve been trained with different skills I am going to use them in my plans especially to activate my personal leadership plan to put it into action is I’ve written it in my action plan which I was taught create. I’m going to continue in this leadership journey that I have started and also I have decided to become a climate activist as well as a gender activist.
