Yesterday the 25th of November, the launch of the #16DaysOfActivism against gender based violence, TaLI hosted partners to celebrate the enactment of the education amendment act which was signed to law early this year, as a result of advocacy efforts by TaLI and partners through the campaign #EveryChildInSchool #ECIS. TaLI launched the campaign after realizing that more than 27% of children were out of school due to failure to pay school fees, but at the same time the cos tit ruin section 75 guarantees for state funded basic edication. We are Peoria that due to the Advocacy efforts applied by this campaign and many other partners, and the support from members of parliament, we managed to change two laws. The Secretary Circular 3 or 2019 was placed as a direct response to our petition. The education amendment act was also fast tracked by our petition to parliament. We took time to celebrate this on the 25th of November under the theme ‘Every Child In School, an educated Girl is a Protected Girl’ because education is the key to protection against gender based violence, gender discrimination and other exclusions. We say to the gofwbwmt of Zimbabwe

Parliamentof Zimbabwe
