Hazel Chikwenya successfully conducted her inaugural training session for her movement, focusing on the transformative “Knowing Thyself” activity an important first step for leadership development, at Danborough College in Glenview on 25 July 2024. Prior to the session, students struggled to articulate their self-descriptions and define their identities. Hazel expertly empowered students with invaluable knowledge on self-awareness, self-love, self-acceptance, and confidence, teaching them to embrace their unique flaws and imperfections.
The training session was deemed a resounding success, as students gained the ability to effectively articulate themselves, accepting and loving who they are. Hazel credits the comprehensive Yell movement syllabus and bootcamp notes for equipping her to train fellow leaders. Moving forward, Hazel is committed to sustaining her Yell movement’s vibrancy, continuing to empower fellow leaders from her community with the skills she acquired from the bootcamp. Additionally, she is eager to expand her training to include Financial Literacy, her thematic area of interest, and empower students with essential life skills.
