My name is Dion Tanaka Chitembwe i am a lady aged 24. I am a change maker. The LEMHs program helped to shape my career goals.Through the program I managed to evaluate myself , set my career map and have already achieved some of the goals.

The Lemhs program inspired me to be the change I want to see.The program was a tool that equipped me with all the necessary skills I needed to amplify my voice for what I believe in and also for advocating for girls and women’s issues. My passion lies within Women and Leadership. Women also belong in the boardroom and every decision made affects them either indirectly or directly ;so advocating , lobbying and changing the narratives of women leaders is of interest to me.

As a trained i leader i now possess the following skills ,Article writing (citizen journalism),programming
,speech writing skills and public speaking . After the LEMHs program I am now more confident , and also developed the culture of intersectionalism .The way i articulate things is now more positive and I now believe in myself and above all the program taught me to value myself and not to give a blind eye to my mental health.I am still using the skills i acquired upto today .I have been engaged in various community activities such as the water march campaign , She Leads program , hosted community podcast programs as well as furthering my citizen journalism. These have helped me to engage other young women to partake in these activities making their concerns known etc .However I have faced a lot of challenges including labelling , assaults , ignorance from the community as as well as being labelled of being political aligned hence brought a lot of threats and resistance from other young women.

In 10 years time I see myself as an active leader in the civic society ,amplifying for womens voices and changing how they are viewed in the society by being examplery.
