Call For Next Class of Leadership Economic Mentorship Hubs (LEMHs) Programmes 2024-2025

Tag A Life International (TaLI), an adolescent girls and young women’s (AGYW) rights organisation is happy to announce the call for participants for our Class of 2024-2025 Leadership, Economic and Mentorship Hubs (LEMHs) programme for Zimbabwe.
The LEMHs programme aims to grow young women and girls between the ages of 16 and 24 in the areas of leadership, women and human rights, governance, democracy, active citizenry, team development, engagement and collaboration, with the intention of enabling them to solve the complex issues that they face in their own communities and the global community while closing the gendered leadership gap.
The one-year leadership programme includes training, mentorship, movement building in communities, implementation of community projects, stakeholder engagement and access to hubs for policy influencing, support and networking. The training content includes topics on Human and Women’s Rights, young women’s Leadership and Political Participation, Democracy, Governance and Accountability, Economic Empowerment, Education and Psycho Social Support, Sexual Reproductive Health Rights/HIV & AIDS, Gender Based Violence & Peace Building, Environment and Climate, Information and Technology, Mental health and Drug Abuse, Inter-Sectionalities among relevant issues that affect them.
For the current class of 2024-2025, TaLI is inviting young females leaders from Harare including Chitungwiza and Norton, Midlands and Manicaland, who have a passion and can commit to advancing and advocating for the rights of young women and girls in Zimbabwe and beyond. These should come from communities and also universities/colleges. Young women who are survivors of early and forced marriages, living with disability and HIV are encouraged to apply. The training itself requires time commitment of up to 12 days in a Boot camp and those interested should be willing to sign a contract with us of commitment. There will be leadership and growth activities through out the year that will need commitment of the applicant. Beyond the first year the participants become alumni of the project.
Furthermore, participants will be expected to develop their leadership projects and engage with other young women as well as local leaders to implement the projects in their communities to demonstrate that young women can mobilise themselves, build movements and are solutions to their problems, are leaders and change-makers. At the end of the programme the LEMHsters will graduate and only those who successfully met the requirements will be able to graduate with a certificate.
This is a voluntary opportunity and therefore candidates must not expect to be paid to attend or to work in their communities, it is for those passionate about working for their community as active citizens advancing their own rights and fighting for justice. Only those passionate should apply.

I’m Nyaluthie Mapara aged 18 from Budiriro. I learn at Mufakose 2 High School. I’m interested in doing the project. I was once trained for servant leadership and as a junior councillor of Chitungwiza municipality against child abuse. I’m very interested in helping the community and Zimbabwe as a whole. I would like to take this opportunity so that to make sure no child is left in the community.
Am doing Risk Reduction and Disaster Management, am interested to join this leadership training. I have a certificate in Humanitarian Global Action Aid. I promise to bring change in my community through encouraging youth and community members to send their children to school, fight against gender based violence and drug abuse among youths in my community in Binga district in Mat North.
