Anesu Chatikobo has chosen mental health and drug and substance abuse as her thematic area of focus. On 19 July 2024, she was invited to deliver a presentation on mental health issues at Star Bright College in Chitungwiza. Her comprehensive presentation covered the causes of drug and substance abuse, signs and symptoms of drug addiction, and prevention strategies, including education and healthy coping mechanisms.
Anesu also created a safe and supportive environment for audience members to share their personal stories and experiences related to drug addiction and mental health, highlighting the significant impact these issues can have on individuals’ lives. Additionally, she informed the audience about the availability of rehabilitation centers and resource centers in Zimbabwe for those affected by drugs, as well as counseling services.
The Headmaster of Star Bright College and audience were thoroughly impressed with Anesu’s presentation, and she has been invited to participate in a career fair planned for next term in September. This is a testament to Anesu’s passion for addressing mental health and drug and substance abuse issues, and her ability to engage and educate others on these critical topics.
