Partnerships
HIVOS took a step of boldness and came about to support TaLI in its infancy stages. It is an organization that believes in the advancement of gender for girls and women. The HIVOS Partnership ensured that TaLI had professional offices set up. It enabled TaLI to purchase office equipment and basic capacity building for the organization.
TaLI partnered with the US Embassy PAS to train leaders and facilitators as well as launch TaLI clubs in the Midlands. The objective was to make a Situational analysis on the issues of gender and development vis a vis the girl child and to penetrate Midlands, particularly Shurugwi with TaLI programmes.
Midlands is an area that has never had girl child development programmes, that the introduction of TaLI was more than welcome by the Ministry of Education, Sports, Arts and Culture as well as the Ministry of Women Affairs, Gender and Community Development and by the school authorities, Chiefs and communities. The US Embassy grant made it possible to train club leaders and Facilitators, to Officially Launch TaLI clubs in close to 40 schools as well as celebrate the 16 Days of Activism.
