A Story of Change: Tendai Jack’s Journey
Tendai Jack’s life took a dramatic turn after participating in Tag a Life International’s (TaLI) LEMHs program bootcamp. The 12-day training ignited a passion within her to advocate for women’s empowerment in technology. With newfound confidence and skills, Tendai launched the WomenTech Zimbabwe Initiative.
Transforming Lives
Through WomenTech Zimbabwe, Tendai:
– Provided accessible coding lessons and computer literacy training to girls and young women
– Established a network of support and resources for participants
– Collaborated with SheCodes to provide online coding lessons, equipping participants with valuable coding skills
The impact was profound:
– Young women were empowered to pursue careers in technology
– A supportive network of women in tech was built
– Coding skills and computer literacy among participants were enhanced
A Ripple Effect
Tendai’s initiative didn’t stop there. She took on leadership positions, including:
– Representing the University of Zimbabwe at the National Schneider Enactus competitions
– Member of Youth Talk at the University of Zimbabwe
– Running for Minister of ICT in the Model Parliament Zimbabwe
A Brighter Future
With plans to expand training programs, strengthen partnerships, and continue advocating for women’s empowerment in technology, Tendai’s journey is just beginning. The TaLI bootcamp was the catalyst for this transformation, equipping Tendai with the skills and confidence to drive meaningful change.
