My name is Tariro Tawodzera and I’m 23 years old. After the training I received during the LEMHs program I now describe myself as empowered ,confident ,open minded and knowledgeable.
The program has helped me to shape my career goals and I am now vibrant when it comes to leadership and political participation. I was inspired to always stand up for myself and also to never miss an opportunity for anything.
The immediate change I saw in myself after the LEMHs training was confidence boost to the extent that as soon as we finished the boot camp l was already geared up to take leadership roles and actively participate in student activism at University level. As a member of the Zimbabwe congress of students Union (ZICOSU) l told myself that l am going to stand on behalf of my Union and inspire other girls and young women. In the same year l was brave enough to campaign for the position of a secretary General and the most unique and amazing thing is that there were twenty boys participating and l was the on female. Only eight people were to be selected and l managed to be in the top four. I was duly elected as the University of Zimbabwe Secretary General for Social Welfare and Gender. And all the credit goes to Tag a Life international for grooming me and l can now proudly say l am also participating in the politics of the country taking positions of influence.
As a trained LEMHster, a leader in the next 10 years I see myself with a sit in Parliament, making decisions on behalf of my country and also occupying different positions which allow me to impact the lives of girls and young woman.
The program has helped me to shape my career goals and I am now more interested in leadership and politics. I was inspired to always stand up for myself and also to never miss an opportunity for anything.
