On 1 July 2020 the Freedom of Information Bill came into law replacing the unpopular Access to Information and Protection of Privacy Act (AIPPA).
It is important that Zimbabweans are aware of the existing of this law, and are ready to claim their rights to freedom of information as it relates to their participation in public life, especially as the government of Zimbabwe is undertaking devolution at this stage.
Yesterday Tag a Life International (TaLI) in partnership with Fojo and Identities Media TV launched the “My Freedom of Information- MFoI Campaign.”
The MFoI campaign is to raise awareness of the new Freedom of Information Act for women,girls , youths, vulnerable groups and journalists to benefit from this right to access to information.
The Campaign started with a training of ambassador Journalists on the Freedom of Information Act that is extending to today.
