TaLI is governed by a dedicated Board of Trustees and supported by a Board of Advisors. United by our mission to transform the lives of girl children through sustainable solutions, our boards comprise individuals from diverse backgrounds who share a deep commitment to empowering girls and promoting their development.
Nyaradzo Mashayamombe
Ms Nyaradzo Mashayamombe is a renowned gender equality advocate, youth rights champion, and disability rights pioneer. As the Founder and Executive Director of Tag a Life International Trust (TaLI), she has dedicated her career to empowering marginalized communities. Her impressive track record includes:
- Founding and leading Adolescent Girls and Young Women Africa (AGYW Africa), a pan-African platform amplifying the voices of girls and young women.
- Establishing Identities Media, a storytelling platform showcasing women’s and youth’s experiences, reaching millions through television shows and films.
- Co-founding Democracy Solidarity Africa (DSA), increasing African representation at the Forum 2000 Conference from 4 to 35 members.
- Advocating for the Zimbabwean Parliament to pass the Education Amendment Act of 2021, ensuring education rights for marginalized groups.
- Initiating Leadership Economic Mentorship Hubs (LEMHs), empowering 6,500 girls and young women to take on leadership roles.
- Implementing environmental projects, such as biodigesters and smart energy solutions, to reduce climate change impact and alleviate unpaid work burdens for rural women.
With over 15 years of experience, Ms Nyaradzo specializes in gender, human rights, governance, accountability, democracy, and community development. Her work spans 15 African countries, advancing rights and empowering young women to advocate for themselves. A true champion of change, Ms Nyaradzo’s dedication and impact have earned her numerous awards and recognition.
Amanda Chenai Makombe
Amanda Chenai Makombe is a multifaceted creative force – a captivating storyteller, thought-provoking young leader, and seasoned project manager. As a writer, she sparks meaningful conversations and explores cultural narratives with passion and nuance. As the Founder and Creative Strategist of Kumbekumbe Arts, Amanda harnesses the power of art to amplify the voices of young people, fostering a platform for self-expression and empowerment.
With a distinguished background in project management, certified by the Catholic University of Zimbabwe, and a degree in Sport Science from Kincard College of Sport, Research,and Technology, Amanda brings a unique blend of skills and expertise to her work. Her writing has been recognized with the prestigious Open Heroines Writing Grant, and she has been selected as a panellist for the Under Our Skin Film Festival in 2023.
Amanda’s impact extends far and wide, earning her a coveted spot as a 2023 Vital Voices Fellow and recognition among the 2024 ABCD AFRICA 100 Most Impactful Voices List. Through her work, Amanda continues to inspire and uplift, using her creativity and leadership to drive positive change and celebrate the stories that matter most.
Makanaka Museve
Makanaka Museve is a driven and passionate individual dedicated to empowering girls and advancing gender equality. With a diploma in Quantity Surveying and over three years of experience, she brings a unique perspective to our board. As an empowered woman herself, Makanaka is committed to creating a ripple effect of change, inspiring others to break down barriers and challenging stereotypes in her field. She believes that girls too can be recognized and thrive as engineers worldwide. Makanaka is devoted to fostering safe and supportive environments for girls to flourish. In her free time, she enjoys mentoring young women, offering career guidance, and is eager to contribute her skills and expertise to create a safe and inclusive world where girls can dream big and achieve their aspirations.
Farayi Murambwa
Farayi Murambwa is a dynamic and ambitious young woman who wears multiple hats – Accountant, Baker, and passionate advocate for social change. With a newfound career in Accounting, she is excited to bring her skills and expertise to the Organization. However, her true passion lies in empowering the girl child through education and entrepreneurship. She believes that every girl deserves equal opportunities to succeed and thrive. As a community champion, Farayi is dedicated to creating a ripple effect of positive change in her community and beyond. Her ultimate dream is to live in a world where gender equality is a reality, and both females and males have equal access to resources, opportunities, and rights. She is committed to working tirelessly to make this vision a reality, and is grateful for the opportunity to connect with like-minded individuals who share her passion for creating a fairer world for all.
Caleb Mutandwa
Caleb Mutandwa is a seasoned legal expert and advocate for girls’ and women’s rights, bringing over 22 years of experience in civil litigation, commercial law, and human rights law to our board. As a founding member and former Director of Justice for Children, Caleb has a proven track record of championing the rights of vulnerable populations, particularly children and young women. His expertise spans governance, strategic planning, research, and advocacy, making him a valuable asset to our Organization.
With a strong legal background, Caleb has litigated in various courts, including the Labour Court, High Court, and Supreme Court of Zimbabwe. He holds a Bachelor of Laws with Honours from the University of Zimbabwe and a Master of Laws in Human Rights Law from Ulster University in the UK.
As a Partner at Machinga Mutandwa Legal Practitioners and a board member of NUST Council and several charitable organizations, Caleb brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to our organization. His dedication to promoting girls’ and women’s rights and his extensive experience in governance and advocacy make him an invaluable addition to our board.
Ms Nobesuthu Mgutshini
Ms Nobesuthu Mgutshini is a seasoned PSHEA (Protection Sexual Harassment and Abuse) specialist with over 7 years of experience in international human rights organizations, working in both humanitarian and development contexts. She possesses exceptional leadership skills, with a strong background in project planning, monitoring, and evaluation. Ms Nobesuthu excels in analytical and communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling reports that drive impact.
A versatile professional, Ms Nobesuthu seamlessly integrates capacity building, compliance, accountability, management, and investigation expertise to advocate for child rights and gender transformative work at the national level. She develops and communicates programmatic theoretical concepts, translating them into practical solutions that drive positive change.
Ms Nobesuthu fosters collaborative relationships with civil society organizations, government departments, and community structures to support sustainable interventions. Her in-depth knowledge of local cultural practices, traditions, and faith enables her to navigate complex child safeguarding issues, ensuring the protection of children from harm in diverse legal and cultural contexts.
With a unique blend of technical expertise, leadership acumen, and cultural competency, Ms Nobesuthu is a valuable asset to our Organization committed to promoting child rights, gender equality, and social inclusion.
Mrs Memory Darikwa
She is a distinguished author, grief counseling expert, and industrial & employment relations specialist who brings a wealth of expertise and passion to our organization. With a deep commitment to empowering girls and young women, Memory is driven by a desire to help them develop a profound understanding of their emotions and inner strength.
